The strokes use a 2000’s style website, which links to the nostalgia of when the band first burst onto the scene and of the unique charm of old websites. This is a creative approach and allows The Stroke’s website to stand out, much like they did as a band when they changed the rock scene. The uniqueness links to their style as an alternative band who broke out of the grunge scene and make rock less gloomy. The bright blue colour heavily contrasts the more dull tones used in other bands websites- presenting The Strokes as outliers. The different link pages are represented by different icons that would be seen on a computer home screen.

Each of the icons leads to a separate part of the website or opens a pop up just like it would on an older desktop. Creating this aesthetic creates a positive band image as people remember how unique and interesting the bands website Is compared to others in the same genre. It helps the fans feel more connected to the band as they spend time exploring the easter eggs found within the website rather than just finding what they are looking for and leaving. This increased connection to the band will lead to fans visiting the merch store invertedly while exploring the website, encouraging them to spend money on the merchandise. This also leads to increased retention on the website and keeps people 

The Strokes have a million followers on Instagram, with 644k on X. The band are inactive on social media, having not posted since 2022.However, the band post their new releases when they bring new music out- posting the release of their latest album ‘the new abnormal. Since The Strokes were such an influential and timeless band, they have fans of all ages, which means that these social media pages are more likely to be visited by their younger audience.
